Abstract
In May 2024, Sumatera Barat Province's Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation will be 4.17 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Pasaman Barat Regency at 5.93 percent.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 9.68 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.55 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.42 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.48 percent; health group at 1.11 percent; transportation group at 0.66 percent; the information, communication and financial services group at 0.11 percent, the recreation, sports and culture group at 1.90 percent; education group by 1.83 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.87 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 4.99 percent.
On a month to month (m-to-m) basis, West Sumatra Province in May 2024 experienced inflation of 0.51 percent. Until May 2024, year to date (y-to-d) inflation in West Sumatra Province was 1.71 percent.
