Abstract

  • In September 2024, the level of expenditure inequality among the population of Sumatera Barat as measured by the Gini Ratio will be 0.287. This figure rises in comparison with a Gini Ratio in March 2024 of 0.283. Meanwhile, when compared with the Gini Ratio in March 2023 (0.280), an increase of 0.007 points was recorded.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.313, an increase of 0.003 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 which was 0.310. Compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023, it was recorded to have increased by 0.008 points where the Gini The ratio in March 2023 is 0.305.
  • Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.226, or a decrease of 0.002 points compared to the March 2024 figure of 0.228, and decreased by 0.006 points compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio which was recorded at 0.232.
  • In September 2024, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group will be 23.27 percent, meaning that population expenditure will be in the low level of inequality.
  • Broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 21.72 percent, while rural areas recorded a higher figure, namely 26.23 percent. This means that both urban and rural areas in Sumatera Barat are included in the low inequality category.
