Abstract

In March 2023, the number of poor people (population with per capita spending per month below the poverty line) in West Sumatra reached 340.37 thousand people (5.95 percent), a decrease of 3.45 thousand people compared to conditions in September 2022 which of 343.82 thousand people.
  • Based on area of residence, in the period September 2022 - March 2023, the number of poor people in urban areas decreased by 6.54 thousand people (from 140.33 thousand people in September 2022 to 133.79 thousand people in March 2023), while in the period At the same time, the number of poor people in rural areas increased by 3.08 thousand people (from 203.49 thousand people in September 2022 to 206.57 thousand people in March 2023).
  •   The Poverty Line in the period September 2022–March 2023, the Poverty Line rose by 2.10 percent. The increase was from IDR 654,194 per capita per month in September 2022 to IDR 667,925 per capita per month in March 2023. Meanwhile, in the period March 2022–March 2023, the poverty line increased by 9.33 percent, namely from IDR 610,941 ,- per capita per month in March 2022 to IDR 667,925,- per capita per month in March 2023
