Documentation of the Launch & Capacity Building for the Statistics Loving Neighborhood

Padang Panjang, 24 June 2025 — Today, Kelurahan Sigando in East Padang Panjang officially launched its “Kelurahan Cinta Statistik (Cantik)” program. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Padang Panjang (represented by the Legal Affairs Expert Staff), the Head of the City’s Communications and Informatics Office, sub-district leadership (Forkopimcam), all village heads (lurah) of East Padang Panjang, and representatives of the Sigando community.

After the launch, a statistics capacity-building session was held for every neighborhood association (RT) in Kelurahan Sigando. The speaker, Mr. Masruqi Arrazy—coordinator of the Desa Cantik initiative—emphasized the importance of accurate data at the village level and explained the technical guidelines for managing Sigando’s population data.

It is hoped that by designating Kelurahan Sigando as a “Statistics-Loving Neighborhood,” the program will benefit the community itself and serve as a model for other kelurahan throughout Padang Panjang.
