The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Padang Panjang City held the second batch of Field Officer Training for Initial Socio-Economic Registration at the Grand Bunda Hotel, Bukittinggi, 11 to 13 October 2022. This activity was attended by 40 field officers. Previously, BPS Kota Padang Panjang had also held training for the first batch on October 5 to 7, 2022. This training for Regsosek Preliminary Data Collection Officers provided, obtained, and increased understanding of concepts and definitions, organization and procedures for data collection in the field.
The second batch of data collection officers training activities were officially opened by the Head of BPS Padang Panjang City, Arius Jonnaidi, S.E., M.E. In his remarks, Arius Jonnaidi conveyed several messages to all PPL, PML, Koseka, and Regional Instructors in view of the field officer standards set in the Initial Socio-Economic Registration Data Collection. To PPL and PML, Arius advised them to be able to participate in Officer Training with seriousness and discipline, understand concepts, definitions, classifications, measurements, and units as well as Operational Standards (SOP) for Regsosek Field Activities, and communicate and discuss training materials that are not yet understood. PPL is also expected to master communication techniques to be able to interview respondents and the technique of writing respondents' answers into questionnaires. In addition, the questionnaire that has been completed and checked for completeness, consistency, and validity of the answers can be submitted by the PPL to the PML in stages.
Then, PML is expected to be able to provide initial assistance to each PPL and monitor each PPL on a regular basis. Furthermore, if there are erroneous or dubious entries, the PML is tasked with asking the PPL to make a repeat visit to the respondent. PML is also advised to collect documents to the District/City BPS gradually and avoid collection at the end of the implementation schedule.
For Koseka, Arius advised to coordinate with the Camat for the smoothness of Regsosek Preliminary Data Collection. In addition, Koseka is expected to be able to coordinate and carry out all Quality Monitoring procedures as well as all follow-up actions of the Constitutional Court.
To the Regional Instructor (Inda), Arius also conveyed a message to be able to ensure the similarity of concepts, definitions, classifications, measurements, and units including between the first and second waves, as well as provide examples of relevant cases that occurred in West Sumatra.
Of course, good cooperation between PPL-PML-Koseka-BPS Regency/City is the key to the success of the 2022 Regsosek Initial Data Collection. Hopefully we can all carry out the mandate in this Socio-Economic Initial Data Collection activity completely and with quality.
Let's make Regsosek 2022 a success, taking notes to build the country.
